Cars & Coffee in Scottsdale always picks up in January with the incoming automotive auctions bringing people in from around the world. There were lots of fantastic cars present this time around, a perfect opportunity to get to know my new 85mm f/1.8 lens. As usual, I’ll let the photos do the talking.

These next few shots are from the weekly Pavillions car show in Scottsdale, the largest weekly car show in the world!

The McLaren X-1 garnered a lot of mixed attention on the internet when it was revealed. I happen to think its a pretty cool that McLaren would do something like this but I do prefer the looks of the Mp4-12C you can see below.

It took the better part of 5 minutes to get the Sesto Elemento off the stage. Not a lot of clearance on this track-only Lamborghini.

Lamborghini’s Urus SUV Concept was also on display (and came off the stage much more easily).

After The Quail we headed to Carmel to see what we could find around Ocean Ave.

Unfortunately as there have been more and more events at the Monterey Peninsula on that weekend the cars don’t come out to Carmel as much as they once did. There were still some gems though like the above SLR Sterling Moss.

The next day after the races at Laguna Seca we went to Cannery Row where I saw this RWB Porsche. RWB has become quite famous on the internet for the way they modify older Porsches. I’m personally a fan.

The interior of a Jaguar XJ which I personally think has one of the best interiors of any car out there today.

After Cannery Row we went to downtown Monterey where they have a few auctions going on.

The one-of-a-kind Plymouth XNR was being auctioned off at the RM Auction.

I finally got to see a Pagani this year. Seeing the Huayra in person totally transformed my opinion on it. The attention to detail on every aspect of this car is simply staggering.

This years event celebrated the life of Carrol Shelby and as you can imagine, there were Cobras everywhere. Not that that’s a bad thing, Cobras are incredible cars. I’ve never seen so many original Cobras in one place.

BMW was well represented at the event, not only with their race cars, but with classic road cars as well like the above BMW 1800 TiSA.

This year I was extremely fortunate not only to get a media pass to RMMR but a photo vest as well which gained me access to areas of the track that a general admission ticket will not get you.

Being able to get up close with these cars in the  pit-lane before they hit the track in the was an unforgettable experience for me.

It was especially cool to see such antique vehicles as this 1907 Renault hit the track. Anyone with the guts to drive a car like that around Laguna Seca immediately earns my respect.

This 1917 Hall-Scott was another stand-out. If you look closely you can see that this car has leather wrapped leaf springs.

Undoubtedly one of the most beautiful cars in exsistence, there were two examples of the Aston Martin DB4 Zagato at RMMR this year. The green one was being used not for racing, but for transport around the paddock.

One of my favorites and a legend in its own right, the Porsche 917.
